How to use HONEY on face

Honey is basically nature’s miracle for your skin with its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects (goodbye acne).

You can use honey masks several times a week and they are also good for all skin types. Plus, they also work great as a NATURAL MOISTURIZER (always a bonus).

So today I will present you my favorite top 3 honey recipe’s.

But of course – always start with clean skin and before applying the mask, lay a warm, wet wash cloth on your face to open up your pores. Leave the towel on your face for 5 to 10 minutes.

1. Dry lips recipe:

  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon coconut oil (preferably extra virgin)

Mix it well together and then apply the mixture on the lips for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the mixture with warm water followed by cold water.
Helpful advice: don’t ever lick your lips! In practice we lick our dry lips to add some moisture, but in reality, we dry them out by licking even more. So keep your tongue where it belongs.

2. Basic honey face mask

  • 2 teaspoons of honey (then add 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil if you have a dry skin type or 1 teaspoon of milk, if you have a normal skin type)

Mix it all well and apply it over your face and neck and leave it for 15 minutes before washing it off with warm water. It will leave your skin very moisty and smooth.

3. Face mask for acne-prone skin:

  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  •  lemon juice (use ½ of a lemon)

Mix it all well and gently apply it to your face and neck. Let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water, followed by cold water.

Why cold water? Because it helps to close your pores.

But don’t forget to put moisturizer or coconut oil on your face and neck when you are finished with a mask.

But then you ask why exactly coconut oil?
