Best way to explore Ubud – Bali

There’s nothing better and more exciting than cruising around the island with a scooter, but don’t forget: You have to ride on the LEFT side of the road! An International driving permit is also required.

At the villa where we stayed, we rented a scooter for just 4$ per day. Which is a really good price and a true bargain for us Europeans.

The town of Ubud is a traditional country town in Bali and is only one car hour away from Seminyak. With very much to see there and little time, I made for you a list of things and places to visit:

JI. Jaga Raga No.66, Celuk, Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali

This place is incredible. You will find out that all jewelry and artifacts are inspired by Balinese nature and they have also jewelry class so you can make your own little masterpieces – this was so cute for me!

JI. Raya Batuan, Batuan, Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali

It is a very unique gallery in Bali. Because it is situated in a Balinese Traditional House. In there you can see many kinds of different art styles made by local painters. The staff who attended to us was very friendly. We also bought a perfect painting there. Which was packed tightly so there were no problems with the transport back home. I highly recommend you stop there on your way to Ubud.

JI. Raya Batuan, Batuan, Sukawati, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali

This temple is one of the oldest temples on the island and is full of beautiful Balinese ornaments.

JI. Raya Tegenungan, Kemenuh, Ubud 80581

It is the most famous and wonderful waterfall in Bali!

When you arrive, you must definitely go up the stairs to the D’tukad River Club & Swing. The place is AMAZING and has so many facilities. From swimming pools, to bars, best selfie spots to an amazing restaurant with very delicious food.

Jalan Raya Tegallalang, Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali

For me this traditional house has one of the most beautiful views in Bali.
+ There’s also a swing ride you can try if you are enough of an adrenalist. I don’t recommend this to those of faint harts.

Here you can also try the world’s most expensive coffe. It’s called Kopi luwak.
The main factor of its crazy high price is the uncommon method of producing it. Why you think?
Well because it is made by feeding the café beans to a special Balinese animal which is called the Civet or Palm cat. The Palm cat digests the beans which are the collected, cleaned and roasted for us. Totally worth the price, right?
There we were brave for you and tried Uma Pakel’s different teas and coffees. They all had a really special taste. But I liked them overall. I also got some really great pics, which is always a good thing.

JI. Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali

Another place I highly recommend is Ubud’s Monkey forest. There you can see more than 700 monkeys and the area covered by the park is around 12 hectares of pure rain forest.

But in the end monkeys are wild animals so you can’t be angry with them for too long, especially when they are so cute.

And yes, all of those beautiful places on the pictures are real!

till next time…
